HK shares track global markets lower after peak

HONG KONG, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Hong Kong blue chips fell 1 percent and China plays dropped 1.8 percent on Wednesday, as declines in global equities prompted investors to book gains in recent gainers like China Life (2628.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) following a record run.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened at 28,674.27.
The China Enterprises index of H shares .HSCE, or Hong Kong-listed shares in mainland companies, opened at 19,094.97.
