HK blue chips at peak as properties, Bocom jump

 HONG KONG, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Hong Kong blue chips gained
more than 3 percent in early Monday trade, outpacing gains in
other Asian markets, as property shares rose on expectations of a
U.S. rate cut.
 Shares in Bank of Communications (3328.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) also rallied after
HSBC Holdings (0005.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) lifted its stakes in the Chinese lender.
 At 0227 GMT, the benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI had hit a
high of 31,472.31.
