HK shares edge down but signs of rebound surface

 HONG KONG, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks fell on
Tuesday, as investors remained cautious about the prospects of a
U.S. recession, but some shares such as exporter Li & Fung
(0494.HK) bounced back after taking harsh beatings a day earlier.
 The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened down 0.3 percent
at 26,515.09.
 The China Enterprises index of H shares .HSCE, or Hong
Kong-listed shares in mainland companies, was down 0.7 percent as
of 0201 GMT.
