HK shares fall nearly 2 pct, trade thin

HONG KONG, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks fell nearly 2 percent on Monday, extending opening losses as the market caught up with falls in overseas markets during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The index, which opened down 0.28 percent at 23,404.74, fell to a low of 23,008.28 in relatively thin trade with volume of HK$27.8 billion ($3.6 billion). Traders said they expected the market to find support at around the 23,000 level.
The China Enterprises index of H-shares .HSCE, or Hong Kong-listed shares in mainland companies, fell 1.86 percent. (Reporting by Donny Kwok; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
