HK shares track Asian mkts higher, resource plays up

HONG KONG, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks rose on Monday, as investors shrugged off Wall Street losses and looked instead to strong gains in Asian equities, with resource stocks ringing up further gains on strong metal prices.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened up 0.8 percent at 24,344.27.
The resource-heavy China Enterprises index of H-shares .HSCE, or Hong Kong-listed shares in mainland companies, was up 1.8 percent at 0202 GMT. (Reporting by Rita Chang; editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
