HONG KONG, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks rose on
Tuesday, with large-cap China names such as Sinopec Corp
(0386.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Ping An Insurance (2318.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) recovering a day after
they tracked sinking mainland markets.
Global bank HSBC Holdings plc (0005.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) posted further gains
after Standard and Poor's removed its threat to downgrade the
ratings of bond insurers, easing credit worries.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened up 1.3 percent at
23,564.77. The China Enterprises Index of Hong Kong-listed
mainland companies .HSCE, or H shares, was up 1.5 percent at
13,397.30.
