HK shares recover over 1 pct, Sinopec edges up
(Updates to open)
HONG KONG, March 14 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks rose on Friday, a day after falling sharply, with Sinopec Corp (0386.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) clawing back some of its losses from the last session, but investors remain worried that high oil prices will eat into the refiner's profits.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened up 1.1 percent at 22,536.12. The China Enterprises Index of Hong Kong-listed mainland companies .HSCE, or H shares, was up 1.1 percent at 12,222.72. (Reporting by Rita Chang; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
