HK stocks rise 0.73 pct as China Mobile leads
HONG KONG, April 16 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks rose on Wednesday, tracking gains in overseas markets as earnings from U.S. regional banks brought relief, with investors keeping a close watch on mainland stocks ahead of Chinese economic data.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened up 0.73 percent at 24,075.68 on Wednesday, led by gains in China Mobile (0941.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz). The China Enterprises Index of Hong Kong-listed mainland companies, or H shares, opened up 0.77 percent at 12,762.43.
