Hong Kong stocks drop as refiners slide
HONG KONG, May 8 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Thursday, tracking losses on Wall Street and mainland China, with refiners Sinopec (0386.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and PetroChina (0857.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) leading the slide after crude prices hit another record.
Shares in Sinopec fell 2.46 percent while PetroChina dropped 1.57 percent.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened down 0.65 percent at 25,442.52 points.
The China Enterprises Index of Hong Kong-listed mainland companies .HSCE, or H shares, had fallen 1.44 percent to 13,915.43 as of 0202 GMT. (US$1=HK$7.8) (Reporting by Donny Kwok; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
