RPT-HK Hot Stocks - Zijin loses sheen, Melco soars
(repeats to fix typo)
HONG KONG, Aug 15 (Reuters) - At 0215 GMT, the Hang Seng Index .HSI had slipped 0.8 percent to 21,231.36.
The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top locally listed Chinese firms had fallen 0.9 percent.
Here are some of the stock on the move in early trade:
* Lower oil prices set commodity-linked counters on a pull-back after Wednesday's sharp rally. Offshore oil producer CNOOC (0883.HK) fell 4.1 percent, leading losses on the main index. The stock had risen 7.5 percent on Wednesday.
Gold Miner Zijin Mining (2899.HK) dropped 6.1 percent after gold tumbled nearly 3 percent on Friday and slipped below $800 an ounce for the first time since December 2007.
* Melco International Development (0200.HK) soared 11.4 percent after the company said its Nasdaq-listed casino-operator Melco Crown Entertainment MPEL.N trimmed its second-quarter loss to US$5.7 million against a US$69.2 million loss last year.
Melco's Crown Casino has outperformed expectations since it opened. Some analysts say it has boosted confidence in Macau's gaming sector, which has come under pressure in recent times on rising competition and regulatory uncertainities.
