HK Hot Stocks: China COSCO gains, Mengniu falls
HONG KONG, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Here are some stocks on the move in Hong Kong on Wednesday:
As of 0218 GMT, the blue-chip Hang Seng Index .HSI was up 0.7 percent, pacing gains in other Asian markets.
The index opened up 0.6 percent at 26,880.09.
STOCKS ON THE MOVE:
* China COSCO (1919.HK) rose 1.4 percent to HK$21.80 in heavy trade. The container shipper said regulators had approved its plan to issue 864.27 million A shares to its parent China Ocean Shipping for the acquisition of assets from the latter. here
* China Mengniu Dairy (2319.HK) dropped 2.6 percent to HK$25.85 after saying its dairy joint venture with Danone (DANO.PA) for the production and sale of dairy products in China was called off, with the French food group saying the venture was advancing more slowly than anticipated. * Henderson Land 012.HK gained 1.8 percent to HK$66.80. The Hong Kong real estate developer said it would buy a firm that owns various lots of land in the New Territories for HK$332.2 million in cash, and another firm that holds agricultural land for HK$263.65 million. here (Reporting by Rita Chang; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
