HK Hot Stocks: Metal plays leap, Lenovo advances
HONG KONG, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Here are some stocks on the move in Hong Kong on Thursday:
As of 0219 GMT, the blue-chip Hang Seng Index .HSI was up 1.3 percent, pacing gains in other Asian markets.
The index opened up 1.6 percent at 23,957.64.
STOCKS ON THE MOVE:
* PC maker Lenovo Group (0992.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) leapt nearly 2 percent to HK$5.31, boosted by Hewlett Packard Co's (HPQ.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) upbeat profit forecast.
* Resource shares rise after spot gold <XAU=> and crude CLc1 hit records.
Lingbao Gold (3330.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) leapt a further 4.1 percent to HK$4.86 and rival Zijin Mining (2899.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) advanced 3.6 poercent to HK$10.28.
Jiangxi Copper (0358.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) jumped 3.6 percent to HK$17.80. Goldman Sachs upgraded China's top copper producer to buy from sell on lower smelting loss, and raised its 12-month target price to HK$24 from HK$14 [ID:nHKG329393].
Oil producers PetroChina Co Ltd (0857.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) climbed 2.4 percent to HK$11.98 and CNOOC Ltd (0883.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) rose 2.2 percent to HK$13.06. Continued...
