GE gives up earlier gains on outlook
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shares of General Electric (GE.N) slipped 1.3 percent to $27.27 before the bell on Friday, reversing an earlier climb, as the company forecast third-quarter profits to be flat or down at its finance units and said capital markets were uncertain.
Initially GE shares had risen by more than 2 percent from their Thursday close of $27.64 following the company's report of an in-line second-quarter profit.
