SEOUL (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade May corn futures rose more than 1 percent in early trading on Monday, extending their Friday rally, helped by concerns that rainfall may further delay corn seedings.

Rice futures also jumped more than 1 percent, despite mixed trade in Chicago in the previous trading session, as continued strong demand from rice-importing nations such as the Philippines provided some support.

July rough rice futures RRN8 rose to as high as $24.62 per hundredweight.
