SINGAPORE (Reuters) - U.S. crude futures rose 90 cents to $88 a barrel on Thursday, extending the previous session's gains on renewed concerns of a supply crunch in the Northern Hemisphere's winter season.

On Wednesday, a U.S. government report showed crude stocks in the world's top consumer fell 5.3 million barrels last week, surprising forecasters, who had expected an increase of 800,000 barrels.
