CIT shares nearly double at open after rescue plan

NEW YORK (Reuters) - CIT Group Inc CIT.N shares surged 93 percent to $1.35 at the open on Monday after news the small-business lender may have reached an agreement for $3 billion in rescue financing from a group of bondholders in a plan to avoid bankruptcy.
