Barrick Gold fourth-quarter profit up 28 percent

TORONTO (Reuters) - Barrick Gold Corp (ABX.TO) said on Thursday its fourth-quarter profit rose 28 percent, and it expects to produce between 7.6 million and 8.1 million ounces of gold this year.

The world's No. 1 gold producer earned $537 million, or 62 cents per share in the quarter, up from a year-before $418 million, or 48 cents per share.
