UPDATE 1-Inter Parfums Q3 sales tops market, shrs hit year-high

0ct 22 (Reuters) - Inter Parfums Inc (IPAR.O) posted quarterly sales above market expectations, helped by growth in all lines of its Burberry fragrances, and said its current full year 2009 outlook was conservative.

Shares of the company rose 8 percent to touch a new 52-week high of $13.48 Thursday on Nasdaq, but pared some gains and were trading up 6 percent at $13.19.

Inter Parfums, whose brands include Van Cleef & Arpels, Burberry and Christian Lacroix, said third-quarter sales fell 5 percent to $117.5 million.

Analysts on average were looking for revenue of $111.3 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Sales of Burberry fragrances were up 19 percent in local currency terms, the company said in a statement.

New York-based New Inter Parfums said it would update its current full-year 2009 sales view of $390 million and profit view of 70 cents per share when it reports third quarter results on Nov. 9. (Reporting by Vidya Lakshmi in Bangalore; Editing by Unnikrishnan Nair)
