Thai Hot Stocks-Index extends fall, energy shares down

 BANGKOK, July 10 (Reuters) - Thailand's benchmark stock
index .SETI was down 2.1 percent at 569.81 at 0742 GMT on
Friday.
 Stocks on the move included:
 ENERGY SHARES .SETEN DOWN ON WEAK OIL PRICES
 The energy sector index shed 2.8 percent, led by active
selling in top energy firm PTT PTT.BK and its subsidiaries
after oil CLc1 traded below $60 a barrel. [nSP477646]
 PTT lost 3 percent to 222 baht and its PTT Exploration and
Production PTTE.BK unit declined 3.6 percent to 120.50 baht.
Top coal miner Banpu BANP.BK fell 2.2 percent to 308 baht.

 THAI OIL TOP.BK DOWN ON MARGIN CONCERNS
 Shares in top oil refiner fell 3.85 percent to 31.25 baht
on worries that the company's refining margin would be affected
by rising gasoline inventory in the U.S. market. Some brokers
recommended clients shift from Thai Oil.

 ACL BANK ACL.BK UP ON ACQUISITION HOPES
 Shares in ACL Bank rose nearly 3 percent to 7.05 baht on a
report the government would conclude a plan to sell a stake in
the bank to Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in
the next few months.
 Local newspaper Khao Hoon reported the Finance Ministry,
which owns 30.6 percent of ACL, was considering merging ACL
with Siam City Bank SCIB.BK if the deal with ICBC did not go
through.
 Siam City Bank shares rose 1.8 percent to 17.10 baht.

 COUNTRY CGS.BK UP ON IMPROVING OUTLOOK, TAKEOVER PLAN
 Shares in brokerage Country Group advanced nearly 2 percent
to 1.55 baht after the company said it expected to return to a
net profit this year thanks to its rising market share.
Earlier, the stock hit 1.59 baht, the highest in nine years.
 A company executive also said it was in talks to buy stakes
in brokerage firms in Singapore and Hong Kong and expected to
conclude the deal by the end of this year.
