Indian shares up 2 pct; Infosys climbs 4.3 pct

MUMBAI, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Indian shares extended gains to 2 percent on Wednesday afternoon, led by gains in software companies such as Infosys Technologies (INFY.BO). Higher Asian and European equities also helped the sentiment.

At 1:37 p.m. (0807 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was up 1.95 percent at 16,761.89 points, with 27 components advancing.

Infosys was up 4.3 percent at 2,312.75 rupees.

The 50-share NSE index was up 1.9 percent at 4,975.50. (Reporting by Ami Shah)
