May 5 (Reuters) - Canada's GLG Life Tech Corp (GLG.TO) said it received an order from Cargill Inc [CARG.UL] valued at $40.5 million for the delivery of stevia extract beginning October.

GLG Life, which supplies stevia, an all natural, zero-calorie sweetener used in food and beverages, said it agreed to make additional product available to Cargill during the next 18 months for a possible increase in the order size.

Shares of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company closed at C$2.15 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Ashutosh Joshi in Bangalore; Editing by Deepak Kannan)
