UPDATE 1-Weight Watchers Q4 profit beats estimates

March 4 (Reuters) - Weight Watchers International Inc (WTW.N) posted quarterly earnings that topped market estimates, helped by reduction in the company's tax charges in the U.K.
The New York-based company reported a fourth-quarter net income of $47.6 million, or 62 cents per share, compared with $39.8 million, or 50 cents per share, a year ago.
According to Reuters Estimates, excluding items, the company posted earnings of 56 cents a share.
Analyst on average expected company to post earnings of 52 cents per share, before items, on revenue of $355.07 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
Weight Watchers forecast full-year 2009 earnings in the range of $2.50 to $2.75 per share.
Shares of the company closed at $16.89 Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange. They had touched $16.41, their lowest since the company went public in 2001. (Reporting by Poojya Trivedi in Bangalore; Editing by Jarshad Kakkrakandy)
