July 6 (Reuters) - Augean Plc (AUG.L), a British hazardous waste manager, said it ended takeover talks with One51 after the Irish investment firm failed to make an offer at an expected level.

Augean also said that it was no longer in discussions with any other party regarding a potential offer for the company.

Last August, the company said it had received preliminary approaches by a number of parties regarding a potential bid for the company.

Augean's shares, which have fallen more than 50 percent since August 2008, closed at 43.5 pence on Friday on the London Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Shivani Singh in Bangalore; Editing by Anne Pallivathuckal)
