BANGALORE, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Data-integration software maker Informatica Corp (INFA.O) posted better-than-expected quarterly profit as license revenue grew 9 percent, and forecast broadly in-line fourth-quarter earnings.
Informatica experienced increased customer demand in the Americas during the quarter, while several European business regions, especially U.K. and Germany saw early signs of recovery, the company said in a conference call with analysts.
The company added 58 new customers during the quarter.
For the third quarter, the company posted earnings of $16.2 million, or 17 cents a share, compared with $13.4 million, or 14 cents a share, a year ago.
Excluding items, the company earned 22 cents a share, beating analysts' expectations of 20 cents, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Revenue of $123.4 million beat estimates of $119.9 million.
The company forecast 2010 profit of 93 cents to $1.03 a share on revenue of $530 million to $560 million. [ID:nWNAB3157]
