NEW YORK, Oct 5 (Reuters) - The following financial services industry appointments were announced on Monday. To inform us of other job changes, send an e-mail to moves@thomsonreuters.com.

PIPER JAFFRAY (PJC.N)

Piper Jaffray has hired M. Ian Somaiya as a senior research analyst in New York covering biotechnology companies. He joins from Thomas Weisel Partners Group.

BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON CORP (BK.N)

URDANG, a real estate investment subsidiary of BNY Mellon Asset Management, said it has launched a real estate debt strategy group by hiring a team of eight staff from Capmark Investments.

A10 CAPITAL

Financial services company A10 Capital has hired Mark McClure to head its Texas office. McClure has held various roles in commercial real estate at banks including Morgan Stanley (MS.N) and Goldman Sachs Group (GS.N).

HENDERSON GROUP (HGGH.L)

Henderson said it made three hires to expand its sales effort in Europe. The fund manager has hired Simon Hillenbrand from New Star to head British retail sales; Greg Jones, also from New Star, to head continental European retail distribution and James Bowers, previously at Aviva Investors and NPI, to head UK and institutional product.

MITCHELL SILBERBERG & KNUPP

Law firm Mitchell Silberberg and Knupp said it added James Schwartz as a partner and commercial litigator in its New York office. Schwartz previously was a partner at Carb Luria Cook & Kufeld.

BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)

Bank of America Merrill Lynch said it appointed Sander Press as managing director and head of coal trading for Europe and Asia. Press joins after a six-year career at BHP Billiton, (BHP.AX) (BLT.L) the world's biggest miner, where he was responsible for all energy coal positions globally.

ING INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

ING Investment Management Asia/Pacific said it appointed Paul Klug as regional general manager, replacing Eddy Belmans, who will head ING Life Japan. Klug joins from Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE).

MF GLOBAL LTD (MF.N)

The futures and options broker named Peter Forlenza as global head of equities, effective immediately. Forlenza previously served as global head of equities at Bank of America.

MOELIS & CO

The global investment bank said Benoit Renon joined as a managing director in its London office. He will lead the firm's European consumer sector practice and develop its French investment banking franchise across all sectors.

Previously, Renon served as a managing director and head of European consumer investment banking at Morgan Stanley in London.

JEFFERIES GROUP INC (JEF.N)

Jefferies said it expanded its global healthcare investment banking group with the hiring of five senior professionals, including Henry Elphick, Tommy Erdei and Probir Rao as managing directors.

Elphick, Erdei and Rao join from UBS AG's (UBSN.VX) UBS Investment Bank.

KPMG

The tax and advisory firm said it appointed Rachel Campbell as global head of people, performance and culture and a member of KPMG's global executive team. Rachel is currently head of people for KPMG Europe LLP, a role that she will retain.

DSP MERRILL LYNCH

The Indian financial services firm said it appointed Kavish Arora as head of corporate banking, India. He succeeds Asit Bhatia, who will leave the company to pursue other career and personal interests. (Compiled by Amit Kumar in Bangalore and Elinor Comlay in New York; Editing by Gary Hill)
