Topdanmark raises 2009 outlook

COPENHAGEN, May 19 (Reuters) - Denmark's second biggest insurer, Topdanmark (TOP.CO), said on Tuesday it had raised its full-year profit guidance.

Topdanmark on May 5 opened the books on its first-quarter numbers ahead of schedule and repeated an outlook for full-year net profits of between 875 million and 975 million Danish crowns ($177.5 million) [nL5954495].

"Since this most recent announcement, the 2009 post-tax profit forecast model has been upgraded by 25 million to 900 million crowns - 1,000 million crowns," the firm said in a statement on Tuesday. ($1=5.494 Danish Crown) (Editing by Hans Peters)
