Australia's Orica Ltd (ORI.AX) is seeing a 10 percent annual rise in demand for ammonium nitrate, a key ingredient for explosives, as mining companies aggressively expand their activities, its chief executive officer Graeme Liebelt said.

Indonesian coal miner, PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG.JK), wants to acquire a greenfield coal mine with coal reserves of between 45-47 million tonnes, which could cost the company between $4.5-7.5 billion, its finance director said.

- PTPN IV NEEDS 12.8 TRLN RPH TO DEVELOP BUSINESS

Indonesian state-owned plantation firm, PT Perkebunan Nusanara IV, needs 12.8 trillion rupiah ($1.40 billion) over the next five years to expand its plantation area, including a possible acquisition, its president director said.

Indonesian miner PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (INCO.JK) said it plans to invest up to $1.2 billion, building a nickel-processing plant with an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes in Southeast Sulawesi.
