A fire at a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant in Makassar, South Sulawesi, has caused losses up to 15 billion rupiah ($1.49 million) for state oil firm Pertamina, but an official at the company, Rosina Nurdin, said local LPG stocks were secure for the next four days.

- PERTAMINA MAY END PETROLEUM IMPORTS BY 2017

Indonesia may stop importing refined petroleum products after 2017 as several refinery projects are expected to operate with a total capacity of 2.2 million barrels, from 1.03 million barrels currently, said Rukmi Hadihartini, a senior official at state energy firm PT Pertamina.

Indonesia's ratio of debt to gross domestic product (GDP) has gradually fallen each year to 33 percent in 2008 from 89 percent in 2000, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said.

State gas distribution firm, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS.JK) (PGN) has agreed a $40 million trade financing from ANZ Panin Bank for working capital, corporate secretary M. Wahid Sutopo said.

Indonesia's food and beverage exports in the January-May period fell 30 percent to $840 million from a year ago due to lower demand from the United States, Japan and European countries, the chairman of the food and beverages association Franky Sibarani said.
