STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Educational Development up on H1's

Shares in Educational Development International (EDD.L) is up 4.1 percent after the provider of vocational qualifications posts its first-half results, which finnCapp calls "stunning".

Educational Development reports pretax profit of 3.6 million pounds, up from 0.6 million pounds in 2008, as revenues soar 33 percent to 12.8 million pounds, while raising its dividend to 0.4 pence from 0.12 pence.

"After 2 major previous upgrades for 2008/09 and 2009/10, the scale of the first-half advance, allied to seasonality issues, is such that more upgrades are inevitable," the broker says.
