LONDON, Nov 2 (Reuters) - British power protection company Chloride Group (CHLD.L) posted a 16 percent drop in adjusted pretax profit on Monday, but said it was confident about its prospects for the year.

The company, which protects against power shortages at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 and Arsenal soccer club's Emirates stadium in London, posted adjusted pretax profit of 16.2 million pounds ($26.6 million) on sales broadly flat at 152.7 million pounds.

"We enter the second half with good order book coverage, and with trading in with expectations," Chief Executive Tim Cobbold said in a statement.

"This background gives us confidence in the full outlook for the business."

The group increased its interim dividend by 3 percent to 1.9 pence a share.

Shares in Chloride, which have increased 12 percent since the start of the year, closed at 161.5 pence on Friday, valuing the group at 422.4 million pounds. (Reporting by Paul Sandle; Editing by Sharon Lindores and Erica Billingham)
