Stocks

Shares in Italy train signalling transport systems company Ansaldo STS (STS.MI) rise 4.6 percent, jumping after the company announces that nine month net profit rose 11.2 percent.

"The numbers are broadly in line with what we were expecting on most counts. I know that some analysts are not good at calling this company," a broker with a Milan firm says.

Ansaldo also unveils a 3.8 billion euros order book, and the broker says the group could boost this in the U.S. where, according to a media report, the government is spending $8 billion on high speed rail systems.
