Air France creates comity to oversee security audit-report

PARIS, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Air France (AIRF.PA) has created a special comity to supervise the French airline's audit into flight security and it has parted ways with the head of its flight operations, Le Figaro reported on Wednesday.

Air France declined to comment on the report.

Le Figaro quoted a letter written to staff in which Air France KLM Chief Executive asks pilots to "re-examine without any taboo everything that concerns our flight security in its organisation and practices."

The paper said Gilbert Rovetto, Air France KLM executive vice president in charge of flight operations, was asked to leave but Le Figaro added the airline officially maintained that he had already decided in May to retire.

In October, La Tribune reported that Air France managers had sent a letter to the airline's pilots calling for stricter observance of safety procedures, following a fatal crash in June.

Back then, Air France acknowledged such letter existed but declined to comment further.
