Weather Investments places 2.7 bln euro bond via unit

CAIRO, July 6 (Reuters) - Weather Investments, an Italian holding company owned by Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris, said on Monday it had placed a 2.7 billion euro ($3.75 billion) high-yield bond via its Wind subsidiary.

"The transaction is Europe's largest high-yield bond issue since October 2006," Weather said in a statement, adding that the issue was placed via a subsidiary of Wind Telecomunicazione, a telecommunications company wholly owned by Weather. (Writing by Edmund Blair; Editing by Hans Peters )
