Hankook's Hungary unit halts work on gas shortage

BUDAPEST, Jan 7 (Reuters) - The Hungarian unit of tire maker Hankook (000240.KS) halted production on Wednesday after Hungary imposed restrictions on certain industrial users of natural gas, local news agency MTI reported citing the company.

Hankook's spokeswoman Katalin Roy was quoted as saying by MTI that they expect to restart production on Friday night.

Russian gas imports via Ukraine to Hungary completely stopped on Tuesday and did not resume on Wednesday. (Reporting by Krisztina Than; Editing by Jon Boyle)
