Shares in Telekom Austria (TELA.VI) drop as much as 3 percent to 10.52 euros in early trade, extending Thursday's 3.8 percent decline, as uncertainty about its 2009 outlook reigns following a Reuters interview with Chief Executive Hannes Ametsreiter. [ID:nL9584093]

"Comments on the guidance will create short-term uncertainty until we hear more during the Q2 results on 19 August," UBS says in a note to clients.

Ametsreiter told Reuters on Thursday that the company was sticking to its guidance for now but was running a new forecast currently and would say more about it with publication of its second quarter results.
