Shares in Filtronic Plc (FTC.L) rise as much as 5 percent as the telecoms technology firm expects a better-than-breakeven result for its second half.

"Filtronic has achieved a small operating profit in the second half despite a suppressed demand environment," Panmure Gordon analyst Nick James says.

"As its existing markets continue to stabilise and it begins to address adjacent markets, its prospects look strong."
