SINGAPORE, July 10 (Reuters) - Japanese financial services group Nomura (8604.T) said on Friday it will set up a cash equities business in Malaysia, allowing it to trade Malaysian stocks.

Nomura's head of equities for Asia-Pacific, Siggi Thorkelsson, said the Malaysian business would focus on Middle East investors and complement its recent move to provide investment banking and capital markets services in Qatar.

Nomura already has operations in Bahrain, Dubai and Riyadh. (Reporting by Kevin Lim; Editing by Dan Lalor)
