Mon Jul 21, 2008 6:35am EDT

MOSCOW, July 21 (Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin asked the government on Monday to guarantee uninterrupted oil supplies to the Czech Republic, Russian news agencies reported.

"I'm calling on you to treat this matter carefully and work out (the measures) with all the partners so that there are no interruptions," Interfax quoted Putin as telling government officials.

He also said Russian oil firms should not be blamed for a decline in supplies in July. (Reporting by Tanya Mosolova, Editing by Dmitry Zhdannikov)
