STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-FTSE small caps end 0.1 pct higher

The FTSE Small Cap index .FTSC ends 0.1 percent higher, outperforming the blue chips .FTSE, which hand back earlier gains, finishing down 0.1 percent, and the midcaps .FTMC, off 0.9 percent.

Mariana Resources (MRRE.L) surges more than 14 percent after the company announces a share placing, raising around 2.6 million pounds ($4.33 million), to carry out further exploration at its wholly-owned Calandria South project in Argentina.

British sexual health specialist Futura Medical (FUM.L) falls nearly 14 percent as investors take money off the table after the company announces the CE mark approval for its lead product will be delayed. [ID:nRnsJ2313C]
