STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps fall 0.1 pct midday

The FTSE Small Cap index .FTSC falls 0.1 percent in midday trade, underperforming both the blue chips .FTSE and the midcaps .FTMC, which rise 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.

Booker (BOK.L) sheds 3.3 percent after Britain's largest cash-and-carry wholesaler reports first-half results, with Evolution Securities downgrading the stock to "add" from "buy" on valuation grounds. [ID:nLD596718]

Cadogan Petroleum (CADP.L) adds 17.5 percent, extending gains made on Monday when the Ukraine-focused oil and gas firm said it has received government confirmation of the company's permits for five developments which had been the subject of an indirect legal challenge. [ID:nLD629130]
