Shares in German bioethanol producer CropEnergies (CE2G.DE), a unit of Suedzucker (SZUG.DE), gain 6.8 percent after the company says it is optimistic about the second half of its 2009/10 financial year.

"For 2H09/10 the company (is) very optimistic (expecting) a clear growth in sales and operating profit first of all due to the ongoing output increase in the Belgium plant in Wanze, but also due to the expected further recovery of the bioethanol prices," UniCredit writes in a note.
