BRUSSELS, May 18 (Reuters) - Belgium's largest car distributor D'Ieteren (IETB.BR) said on Friday its first-quarter pretax profit was down about 6 percent, and repeated it saw its full-year result down about 10 percent from 2008.

It said D'Ieteren Auto sales dropped by about 10 percent in the first quarter, though it said D'Ieteren Auto was improving its market share continuously.

D'Ieteren has a majority stake in Europe's biggest car rental company Avis (AVE.L) and in Belron, a vehicle glass repair and replacement business.

D'Ieteren distributes the Volkswagen (VOWG.DE), Seat, Audi, Skoda, Bentley, Porsche (PSHG_p.DE) and Lamborghini brands.
