STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Futures signal gains; housing data eyed

European stock index futures point to more gains, tracking stronger U.S. and Asian stock markets, with the focus on key U.S. building permits and housing starts data while CPI data will be watched in the UK.

At 0604 GMT, futures for the Eurostoxx 50 STXEc1, Germany's DAX FDXc1 and the French CAC 40 FCEc1 are up between 0.6 and 1 percent.

European equities surged 2.4 percent on Monday as financial stocks climbed on hopes a recession in top global economies was abating, while energy shares tracked higher crude oil prices.
