MOSCOW, April 20 (Reuters) - Kazakh oil producer KazMunaiGas Exploration and Production (KMG EP) (KMGq.L) said on Monday its oil output fell 5.2 percent year-on-year to 2.7 million tonnes (224,000 barrels) in the first quarter.

"The drop below the planned level can be explained by tough weather conditions in Western Kazakhstan in January 2009," KMG EP said in a statement.

It said the drop was partially offset by growth at KazGerMunai and CCEL, two smaller producers in which KMG EP has 50 percent stakes.
