Criteria may up Bank of East Asia stake to 20 pct

MADRID, June 22 (Reuters) - Spain's Criteria could increase its stake in Bank of East Asia (0023.HK) to 20 percent, the investment vehicle of savings bank La Caixa said in a statement on Monday.

Criteria and Bank of East Asia have signed a deal for Criteria, the main shareholder in the bank, to increase its stake first to 12.5 percent and then to 20 percent, if BEA agrees. (Reporting by Carlos Ruano; Writing by Sarah Morris; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
