Shares in British fuel cell company AFC Energy (AFEN.L) jump as much as 35 percent to 16.25 pence after it demonstrates its fuel cell system operating on industrially produced hydrogen at a Akzo Nobel (AKZO.AS) plant in Germany.

One analyst, who asked not to be named, says the shares lost ground last year when the company announced a delay in providing its fuel cells to Akzo.
