STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps up 0.5 pct at midday

The FTSE small cap index .FTSC gain further momentum in mid-session trade, up 0.5 percent, outperforming London's blue chip index .FTSE which is 0.2 percent higher, while the FTSE mid caps .FTMC are up 0.7 percent.

Imagination Technologies (IMG.L) soar 31 percent, topping the FTSE small cap risers chart, as finnCap says the chip designer and maker of "Pure" radios full-year results beat expectations after posting a 56 percent rise in adjusted pretax profit. [ID:nRnsX3888U]

UKrproduct Group (UKR.L) plunge 26.7 percent after the supplier and distributor of branded dairy products in the Ukraine says it has experienced a further slowdown in trading activities since reporting its preliminary results in April, leading WH Ireland to cut its 2009 forecasts. [ID:nBw235870a]
