Abengoa sees '09 ethanol sales up 15 pct - CEO

SEVILLE, May 28 (Reuters) - Spanish engineering to energy group Abengoa SA (ABG.MC) expects ethanol sales to increase by about 15 percent to some 1.4 billion litres this year, the head of the bioenergy unit told Reuters on Thursday.

Javier Salgado, chief executive of Abengoa Bionenergy, expected sales of ethanol to rise to 1.394 billion litres from 1.213 billion due to new plants having come on stream or old ones resuming production. (Reporting by Martin Roberts)
