Shares in Informa (INF.L) gain 5.3 percent after the British publishing and events group reports an in-line trading update ahead of its first half results due on July, 28.

Panmure Gordon says: "Underlying multiples are low by any standard. Whilst the organic top-line growth is obviously impaired, in events in particular, the EPS line appears more secure."

The broker estimates EPS of 31.62 pence for 2009, with the group expected to incur costs relating to savings measures for the year to date of around 10 million pounds.
