Rinascente had no contacts with Debenhams-investor

MILAN, July 2 (Reuters) - Italy's department store La Rinascente has had no contacts with British retailer Debenhams (DEB.L) for a possible partnership, La Rinascente investor Maurizio Borletti told Reuters on Monday.

The Sunday Times newspaper has reported that Debenhams is seeking a merger partner in Europe.

German conglomerate KarstadtQuelle KARG.DE said on Sunday it had held talks with the British retailer.
